A busy shop day. Books you can follow.

Export supported Perksmith sales, returns, payment and reward records for import into your Tally company.

The shop has closed, but the day's work is not finished. Your accountant needs to see what sold, what came back, how customers paid and where reward value belongs. Perksmith's Tally export gives that handoff a defined file and a mapping to your accounting categories, called ledgers.

A clearer handoff at the end of the day.

Take the records into Tally

Choose the supported period and scope, generate the export and download the file. Import it into the intended Tally company with the appropriate format and mapping.

Tally XML is the primary route. Excel is available for the compatible import workflow. Your Tally version and accounting entries, called vouchers, determine the format you use.

Use the ledgers your accountant knows

Map the company's names for sales, tax, payment methods, returns and relevant gift-card accounting. Those ledgers need to exist in Tally before import. The right mapping puts each record where your accountant expects it.

Gift-card money also needs the right treatment. Receiving money for a card does not automatically make it ordinary sales revenue; agree the accounting with your accountant.

Know what the period contains

Compare imported sales, returns, tax and payment totals with the Perksmith period. Resolve any mapping or unsupported-record issue before moving on to a larger range. Your accounting handoff should be something you can repeat and explain.

Start with a representative week

  1. Choose the company, period, format and ledgers with your accountant.
  2. Export a small period containing the transactions you use.
  3. Import it, check that the totals match and agree the routine handoff.

A shop exports a week with cash and UPI sales, a return and a gift-card transaction. The accountant imports it into a test company and compares the mapped vouchers with Perksmith totals. The reviewed mapping becomes the starting point for the regular reporting period.

Questions from your accountant

Is this a live Tally connection?

It is a file export/import workflow. You generate the file in Perksmith and import it into Tally.

Do we need to create ledgers first?

Yes. The mapped ledger names must exist in the target company. Review them before the first import.

Can we import the same period again?

Plan repeat imports with your accountant and the agreed procedure. A regenerated export does not, by itself, make a second import safe.

Bring a sample accounting period. We’ll help you walk through the export and the handoff to your accountant.
